About Jesús E. Feliciano-Batista

I'm a Puerto Rican playwright, dramaturg, and screenwriter based in the States, with a recent Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts in Drama, with a focus in Dramaturgy, from Carnegie Mellon University.

I work primarily to elevate Latino themes– SUCH AS– in hopes to build up a movement that tells their stories through theater, television, and film. Through research and collaboration, I explore world building in the past, present, and future to provide urgency and insight on various topics that shape our identity and morality. 

 

Whether through Playwriting or Dramaturgy, my process involves invoking a community from fellow artists that go down the rabbit hole with me to tighten and develop every piece.

 

I want audiences to both feel their voices heard and elevated, and understand the importance of this moment to put forward a language and culture that has often been denied. In a world that is constantly fighting and regressing, my work comes from the desire to feed optimism and progress to live in the moment, more than just a possibility.
